FAQs

Q: How are you different from other moving companies?

A. Customer service is a dying art, but we believe old-fashioned values are worth preserving. We will learn your name and get to know you because we genuinely care. We work quickly, but carefully, from the first quote to the final box. We’re detail-oriented and excellent communicators.

Q: Do you have insurance?

A. Yes! We carry insurance to help ensure your belongings are protected. (Unlike many local movers!)

Q. How does your pricing work?

A. It starts with a FREE quote and is based on the size and number of items you are moving, how far you are moving, and the number of boxes, packing supplies, etc. We know our rates are higher than some, but that’s because we care about you too much to cut corners.

  • We take our time to lovingly wrap and protect your furniture with quality materials. We know how much some pieces of furniture can mean to you and do everything we can to get them to their next home safely.

  • Our movers are super friendly because they get paid what they're worth. (We think that’s important!)

  • We show up when we say we will, communicate regularly, and keep our word, giving you peace of mind.

Q: How far in advance should I schedule my move?

A. We recommend scheduling your move as far in advance as possible. (Ideally, 3-4 weeks.) Depending on the time of year, we may have openings within a week or it may be a couple weeks out. If your move is last minute, please don’t hesitate to contact us, but understand that there may be an emergency move fee if there is little/no advance notice.

Q. What are the steps to schedule a move?

A. First, fill out our web form or call our office to request a quote. Once you receive the quote from our team, you will need to pay a $295 non-refundable move deposit to secure your date on our calendar. The deposit will go toward your total move cost. Keep in mind, your move date is not confirmed until we receive the deposit.

Q: How do I know if my move is confirmed?

A. After we receive your non-refundable deposit, we will send you a confirmation email to let you know your move date is reserved on our calendar. A few days before your scheduled move, we will call to verify our arrival time so you can relax and know we are on our way!

Q: What happens if my moving date changes?

A. As long as we receive at least five business days notice, you can change your move date one time for free. If you want to change your date a second time, you will need to pay a new deposit. Keep in mind: new dates might not be available, especially during busy seasons.

Q: How do I pay for my move?

A. We accept cash, check (with photo ID), or credit cards. Full payment is expected at the end of your move.

 Q. Do I need to tip workers?

A. Tips are common and always appreciated for good work but not expected.

Q: How should I prepare for my move?

A. Preparing to move will take longer than you think! Start early to ensure that everything is ready for us when we arrive. Check out our Top 10 Moving Tips for an efficient and stress-free move.

Q: What should I expect on moving day?

A. Our team will show up on time (or a little early!). We will walk through the house with you and talk about what needs to be moved. After you sign the moving agreement, you can sit back and relax! People are often surprised at how quickly we load their items and get them moved.

Q: What if you show up and my stuff isn’t ready?

A. We cannot move things if they are not in boxes. Please keep in mind that it gets very expensive if we have to help you pack on moving day or wait on items that aren't ready. There will be an extra charge for labor, boxes, and other packing materials.

Q: Should I unload my dressers?

A. Moving is hard on furniture, so we generally recommend that you unload your furniture to ensure that it arrives at its new destination in as good of shape as possible.

Q: I rented a truck. Can you load/unload the heavy things for me?

A. Yes, for long distance moves our carry crew can load or unload your truck. Find more details on our Services Page.

Q: What made you choose moving?

A. Our own experience moving across the country (twice!) was very stressful. This motivated us to start a local moving company that works hard to care for your things. We get so much joy from a job done well and a happy customer! You can read more of our story on the About Page.
